Untitled

3 dancers in a colourful room, with a circular painted motif on the floor. Skateboards and artwork on the walls. One man is kneeling with his arm in an angular pose and the other two are mid motion.

‘Untitled’ is a raw, explorative dance work that combines Breaking, Hip Hop and Contact Improvisation with a musical score set by Setwun (Josh Panakera Molony). It was performed at Scrap Art Gallery in Annandale as part of Space Opera, a night of experimental art and music works curated by Presley Joy Paget.

The work seeks to explore what happens when two different approaches to movement, the floor, gravity and partnering come together. Somewhere between a contact jam (improvised sharing between contact dancers) and a cypher (improvised sharing between street dancers).
